Valve is releasing a limited-edition white Steam Deck OLED next week | PCWorld
Valve’s Steam Deck is still regarded as one of the best gaming handhelds on the market, proven by how well it continues to sell. So it’s no surprise that Valve, in a recent Steam blog post, has announced a limited-edition Steam Deck OLED in white for worldwide release.
The so-called Steam Deck OLED: Limited Edition White is the 1TB version of the Steam Deck OLED (Amazon link), fitted with the same internal components: the eponymous 7.4-inch HDR OLED display, AMD Zen 2 CPU, AMD RDNA 2 GPU, and 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM.
The only truly special aspects of the Limited Edition White are its color, which will probably be of interest to many, and the included accessories. In addition to the device itself, Valve is also including a matching carrying case and a cleaning cloth.
The limited-edition white Steam Deck OLED will be available worldwide on November 18, 2024 starting at 6PM EST. And according to Valve, the retail price will be $679.
It’s unclear how many units Valve will release for sale. Furthermore, availability will depend on region — in the US, there will probably be more units for sale than in the UK or EU, for example.
Valve also states that the number of units will be limited to one device per purchase per account. Not only that, but buyers must have created a Steam account before November 2024 and “must not have attracted negative attention.” This is to protect against scalping.
As the number of units is limited and no more models will be produced when they sell out, you should jump on this quick if you’re interested. Mark November 19 on your calendars and get ready!
